Over the Counter #80

Self sufficiency seemed to be the theme this week for books that caught my eye as they passed over my library counter and under my scanner this week.

First up was Quarter Acre Farm: How I Kept the Patio, Lost the Lawn, and Fed My Family for A Year by Spring Warren.

I've sadly come the realization that I cannot physically read every book that catches my interest as it crosses over my counter at the library. But... I can mention them and maybe one of them will catch your eye as well. See if your local library has them on their shelves!)

Oh wow the first looks awesome!! My husband was just talking about subsistance farming. Very cool! :O)

We did that on the farm when I was growing up. Some years we even made our own flour from our own wheat. My aunt made butter for all of us. I didn't know how special it was at the time.
