You Can't Judge A Book By Its Cover #95

- You can't judge a book by its cover - which is very true.
But you can like one cover version better than another....

US cover
UK cover
I adored A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman. (But I didn't
love My Grandmother Asked Me To Tell You She's Sorry as much.) But I'm looking forward to his new book, Britt-Marie was here, releasing in May in the US and July in the UK. The US cover is on the left and the UK cover is on the right. It's an easy choice for me this week - US. The colors appeals to me, I'm curious about the soccer ball and the cleaning kit and it's just generally appealing. Not so for the UK cover. Bland, trying way too hard to be quirky and I wouldn't pick it up if I didn't know the author. Any plans to read Britt-Marie Was Here?
Which cover do you prefer?

I definitely prefer the US cover for the same reasons that you do. Give me color. Although, the woman with her back to us - sigh - so tired of that.

Hmm.. for some reason I like the UK cover more :P The US one looks a bit boring to me! I have never heard of this book. My mom has a friend called Britt-Marie but other than that I have never met another person with that name. Will have to check out this book for sure.

The US one is better for me and goes with the other Backman covers. I just read Ove, and it definitely makes me want to read his newest. Also have Grandmother here to read too.

Interesting covers this week. If I saw the UK cover standalone I would probably like it, but when compared to the US cover you're right, it's kind of bland and boring.
