You Can't Judge A Book By It's Cover #1

Today is the first entry in a new regular feature here at A Bookworm's World
- You Can't Judge a Book By It's Cover -
Which is very true. But you can like one cover version better than another........

I was searching for the cover art for this week's
post on Frog Music
by Emma Donoghue
and came across the
and the
US cover. (right)

Myself, I prefer the Canadian version......Which one do you prefer?

both quite eye-catching. yes, the red one is more tintilating. (spelling ???) but the other one is lovely too.

lovely all over effect of graceful lady sillouette. (spelling ???) but then you notice that it's made up of frogs! -chuckle-

ahhh those cover art people are marvelous, and unsung heros of reading. how often do we all choose a book, on the basis of its cover art???????? i do.

Tessa - you are so right! It is the cover that will make me pick up a book I've never heard of before. I often stop and savour the cover before even opening the book - wondering how it ties into the story. It is indeed a
whole industry!

I think the Canadian cover is prettier and the US cover looks more serious - I would always pick the pretty cover :-)

And you have to really look at the US cover to see the frogs Bookworm. And I agree - pretty catches my eye too.
